NQF’s four Stakeholder Advisory Councils (“Councils”) are comprised of individuals from Member Organizations with a common role in the healthcare quality ecosystem:
-
Consumer: Patients, Caregivers, and patient advocates;
-
Healthcare Professionals: Specialty Societies, and Professional Associations;
-
Research, Development and Solutions: Life Sciences and Biotechnology Manufacturers, IT and Solutions Companies, and Clinical Researchers; and
-
Healthcare Provider Organizations: e.g., Hospitals, Health Systems, Accountable Care Organizations, and Community Health Centers
The Councils identify and prioritize topics of particular concern for each stakeholder group and that support the ongoing implementation of NQF’s Strategic Plan. The Councils play an integral role in positioning NQF activities and initiatives to have maximum impact and ensuring voices from all stakeholder groups are represented. The Councils serve in an advisory role, providing expertise and guidance regarding the unique needs of each stakeholder group. The Councils do not have governance responsibilities.
Council Structure and Activities
Each Stakeholder Advisory Council will consist of up to 20 individuals from NQF Member Organizations, including a chairperson. Council members are appointed for one-year terms, with the option for renewal. NQF membership is required.
Each Council will prioritize one top area for focus during a one-year cycle. Identified priorities must align with NQF strategic objectives and be unique from current NQF initiatives.
For more information about each of the four Councils, please see the Council overview pages above. Please also refer to NQF's frequently asked questions. If you have questions on which stakeholder group your organization is a part of, please contact members@qualityforum.org.
Nominations for the 2024 councils have closed. They will open again in the fall for 2025.
