2022 Annual Report to Congress 

The National Quality Forum’s (NQF) 2022 Annual Report to Congress and the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) provides a summary of the important work performed under contract with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to evaluate measures against rigorous endorsement standards, identify measurement gaps, and make recommendations on measurements to improve the quality of healthcare. The report highlights three ongoing consensus-based programs that address these aims: Endorsement & Maintenance, the Measure Applications Partnership, and the Core Quality Measures Collaborative. In addition, it describes additional targeted activities to advance and align high-impact valid quality measures. NQF’s activities align with CMS National Quality Strategy and the Meaningful Measures 2.0 initiative to strengthen patient and caregiver engagement, eliminate disparities, reduce burden, and improve quality for all.
