Geriatrics and Palliative Care Final Report - Spring 2022 Cycle 

The National Quality Forum’s (NQF) Geriatrics and Palliative Care portfolio of measures includes measures that address geriatric care, palliative care, and end-of-life (EOL) care issues such as physical, spiritual, religious, ethical, and legal aspects of care. The current portfolio contains 18 measures: 10 process measures, seven outcome measures (including two patient reported outcome performance measures [PRO-PM]), and one composite measure. During the Spring 2022 measure evaluation cycle, the Geriatrics and Palliative Care Standing Committee evaluated four maintenance measures against NQF’s standard evaluation criteria. Three of the measures evaluated focused on EOL cancer care, and one focused on life-sustaining treatment preferences. The Standing Committee recommended the four measures for continued endorsement. The Consensus Standards Approval Committee (CSAC) upheld the Standing Committee’s recommendations and endorsed the four measures.
