Infectious Disease Final Report 

Many infectious diseases have been controlled or eradicated through the use of vaccines and advanced medicine, but infectious disease continues to cause widespread morbidity and mortality. Infections from viruses and bacteria persist in causing a range of conditions from respiratory illnesses to sexually transmitted infections (STI). These infectious diseases contribute to rising healthcare costs. On March 14, 2017, NQF convened the Infectious Disease Standing Committee to evaluate five endorsed maintenance measures and four new measures related to infectious disease and sepsis, and make recommendations for NQF endorsement. All nine measures were endorsed.
