In Phase 1 of the Patient Safety Measures Project, NQF sought to endorse measures addressing gap areas on providers approach to minimizing the risk of adverse events as well as to expand measures beyond the hospital setting that increase harmonization across sites and settings of care. This report outlines the Patient Safety Standing Committee's recommendations on 16 patient safety measures and one ad hoc infectious disease measure.
