NQF’s Consumers and Patients for Quality Award was
established in 2015 to recognize innovative and influential work by its members
to advance healthcare that reflects an individual’s preferences, goals, and
values.
“People deserve high-quality care that is tailored to their
individual needs and situations,” said Shantanu Agrawal, MD, MPhil, president
and CEO of NQF. “We are proud to recognize NQF members who are leading
groundbreaking work to ensure that patients, along with their families and
caregivers, are heard in every setting where they receive care.”

Krughoff, Consumers’ Checkbook.
NQF Members may self-nominate or nominate an organization or
individual for this award. Nominees must be current members of NQF and may
represent any aspect of healthcare dedicated to putting individuals at the
center of conversations and decisions about their care.
Nominations should provide examples of how an organization
or individual:
- Creates successful programs that involve direct
input from consumers and patients to help individuals make informed decisions about
healthcare quality and safety;
- Advances access to high-quality healthcare for
all Americans through quality measurement and quality improvement;
- Demonstrates thought leadership and novel
approaches to advancing the patient and consumer voice in health and healthcare
quality.
Nomination letters should be no more than two pages in
length and emailed as a PDF attachment to Amy
Shaw by January 5, 2018. Please include the email address, phone number,
organization, and mailing address for both the nominator and the nominee.
NQF will notify all Consumers and Patients for Quality Award applicants by February 2018. The award will be presented at 2018
NQF’s Annual Conference, “Fulfilling the Quality Mandate: Are We Closer to
Safer, More Effective, and Affordable Care?,” March 12-13, in Washington, DC.
