NQF recently endorsed 42 measures for the Hospital Care 2007: Additional Performance Measures project. This report puts forth for endorsement guidelines for Internet-based public reporting on the healthcare quality performance of U.S. hospitals. The guidance offers public report design and implementation strategies to increase the value and usefulness of publicly reported information to consumers and to stimulate industry action toward improvement in quality of care, patient safety, and patient-centeredness.
