The Managing Director for Patient-Focused Episodes is responsible for the execution and oversight of projects related to the development of sets of measures for patient-focused episodes for acute and chronic conditions. Specifically, the Managing Director will oversee a series of projects which aim to apply the NQF comprehensive measurement framework to specific conditions by 1) operationalizing the episode parameters for approximately 20 patient-focused episodes and patient trajectories; 2) identify relevant NQF-endorsed measures and measure “gaps”; and 3) support consensus development projects to fill the gaps with individual and composite measures. NQF work in this area will be coordinated with work underway in other settings to define condition-specific episodes for purposes of developing cost measures. The incumbent will also engage in a variety of communication activities -- both internal and external to the organization-- to promote the mission of the NQF.
The Managing Director should possess a Medical Degree and significant experience in performance measurement, including episode development, composite measurement, measure harmonization, and the use of electronic platforms for performance measurement. Strong program management and excellent interpersonal skills are required. Proven track record in working collaboratively is essential. Experience in public speaking desirable.
