We are seeking a Director of Governmental Affairs to lead efforts to communicate with Congressional, federal, and state relations. Responsibilities include serving as liaison with Congressional staff and federal/state health care programs; prepare briefing material; manage outreach effort to Hill with focus on encouraging adequate government funding for healthcare quality measurement and reporting infrastructure; prepare monthly newsletter; Coordinate activity on policy issues with other teams within the organization (education, communications, and membership); attend hearings, briefings, mark-ups and coalition meetings; and respond to public inquiries.
Masters degree preferred in public affairs, public policy/administration, political science, communications or related area with at least 5 years relevant experience. Demonstrate policy leadership skills, including public speaking and advocacy strategy development; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong attention to detail. Capitol Hill experience required.
