NQF National Priorities Partnership: Priorities and Goals

The National Quality Forum (NQF) convened the National Priorities Partnership (NPP), 28 highly influential national organizations that represent the full spectrum of healthcare, with the goal of setting national priorities and goals to achieve real healthcare reform in the next five years. The Partners focused only on achievable goals that would, if implemented broadly, reduce harm, improve patient-centered care, eliminate healthcare disparities, and remove waste from the system.

As part of the Partners’ ongoing effort to engage the NQF membership and the broader public in this important work, feedback was recently requested on the priorities and goals put forth by the NPP. Feedback received to date, including results of an NQF Member survey on priorities conducted in late 2007, can be viewed using the navigation menu at the left.

Any list of goals needs accompanying action steps to make them “real”. Between now and NPP’s next meeting, the feedback received will help guide the work of the Partners to create and suggest specific actions for attaining the proposed goals to which their specific organizations can commit. The action agenda of this initiative is yet another way you can become involved in moving this effort forward. Please check back regularly for more details.
